Dear [Recipients Name],

Sarah and I were upset to hear how your home was vandalized during your absence. We would never have believed that something like this could have happened in our neighborhood. We will be around this evening to help with any repairs or to tidy up that is needed.

It may also be time to start looking out for each other with a neighborhood watch. We will see you later and let me know your thoughts about the neighborhood watch scheme.

Sincerely,
