Dear [Recipients Name],

I was asked the other day that had my support in the upcoming race for Governor. Without any hesitation, I told the man asking that my vote went to Rosa Hernandez.

Mrs. Hernandez was born and raised in Texas. She has made her life here and raised her family here. In 1999, she was elected Mayor of Browning. In 2001, she was elected to Congress. Her political experience continued until the people spoke, asking Mrs. Hernandez to take on the monumental task of running for Governor.

She deserves every vote, too. Never have I met anyone who serves her community so tirelessly. Holidays find her not at home but serving on a soup kitchen line with her family. She holds a place on the Children's Cancer Research Board and is very active in raising awareness of developing cancer.

I had the opportunity to get to know Mrs. Hernandez during a Fun Run held to raise money for diabetes research. As she stood beside me at the starting line, I almost did not recognize her even though I had seen her many times on the front page of the newspaper. She leaned over and conspiratorially whispered, "I am nervous! I have never run in one of these before. I hope I don't trip in fall in front of a camera." Needless to say, she did not trip in fall. She ran the benefits marathon with the same grace I believe she will run our state.

On October 4th, I strongly encourage you to vote for Rosa Hernandez. Her strength will make the Lone Star State a force to be admired.

Sincerely,

Endorsement Letters

Endorsement letters are letters written to give support or public approval to someone or something. In most cases, these letters are used to recommend or endorse individuals or programs. There are many reasons why you may want to write an endorsement letter. Some of these include endorsing or expressing support for a new bill, endorsing a student for an award, introducing and endorsing a politician, and endorsing a bid, just to mention a few. Writing endorsement letters for any of these scenarios will provide the information necessary to confirm the selected individual or item.

There are a few things you should keep in mind when writing endorsement letters. First of all, these are formal letters, and therefore they should have some professional approach. Use clear and specific language. Introduce yourself and give details about what you are endorsing. If you are endorsing a candidate for an award, for example, mention the award for which he/she is nominated. Mention how long you have known the candidate and the type of relationship you share. Clearly state the reasons behind your endorsement request. Make sure that the information you have provided is correct. End with an offer to answer any questions.

Letters to Newspapers

Letters to newspapers are letters sent to organizations responsible for producing newspapers. Such letters are usually from the public to the editors. In all newspapers, there is an opinion or editorial page where readers are encouraged to express their thoughts. It could be to raise concerns, give opinions on different matters of public interest, or recognize and appreciate the good works of individuals and organizations. Letters to newspapers are a reflection on society and an excellent way to let elected government officials understand how their constituents feel. If drafted correctly, these letters can be a powerful tool for influencing change in the society.

The most effective letters to newspapers are short, specific, and factual. Focus your letter on one main concept and try to get your point across well. Be polite, calm, and use humor where appropriate. Be certain that any information that you have provided is accurate and verifiable. Suggest what should be done to address the issue you are writing about. Make your letter simple and avoid jargon and acronyms. Close the letter with a clear, punchy sentence. Sign your name and provide your contact details so that the newspaper can reach you with any questions.
